Right after the ban of 59 Chinese apps including TikTok, Shein, Clubfactory, and UC Browser, the Indian Army asks soldiers to remove 89 apps from their mobile by 15th July 2020. The reason for 89 Banned Apps by the Indian Army has been taken due to the national security risks. The officials have claimed that these apps cause troublesome in the security leak and pass information to China and Pakistan, hence it is important to ban and remove these apps as soon as possible.
The list not only contains some well-known Chinese apps, which are already banned by the Indian government, but this time it includes the US-based platform including Instagram, Facebook, Truecaller, Zoom, Snapchat, and more.
Other major apps, which are banned by the Indian Army is Tinder, WeChat, Hike, Likee, PUBG, etc.
What Army Officials Says?
Other than this, the Indian Army sources have mentioned that “The existing accounts are required to be deleted and not left deactivated. Any service persons found on Facebook (especially in uniform) or other banned sites post 15th July 2020 will be reported”.
The decision to ban and remove this app has apparently been taken to stop sensitive information from going out of the country.
Earlier, US Secretary State Mike Pompeo has said that Washington is also looking to ban these Chinese social media apps including TikTok for user safety and security.
